Gregory J. Ryken
Gregory J. Ryken is an attorney, licensed to practice in California and the District of Columbia. He specializes in the areas of real estate and construction law; and he is both a litigator and a transactional attorney. He is presently Of Counsel to the firm of Tobin & Tobin.
He was born and raised in San Francisco and attended St. Ignatius High School, University of San Francisco, and Hasings College of the Law. He clerked for the presiding judge of the San Francisco Superior Court in 1973 - 74.
Between 1989 and 2000, he was on the Board of Directors of San Francisco Architectural Heritage; and during that time he served as president, vice-president, and chairman of the board. Between 1995 and 1999, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fort Point and Presidio Historical Association. In the late 1970's, he served as attorney-advisor in the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Interior in Washington, D.C. In that capacity he advised the Secretary, who was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation (PADC) on the selection and evaluation of private and public development proposals under consideration by PADC. He also drafted the regulations that have been used by PADC for the selection of development projects.
