JOSEPH BARISH

Joe Barish is currently a partner in the Van Rensaleer Company, providing advisory services to financial institutions doing business with public and private retirement systems. Prior to joining the Van Rensaleer Company, Barish operated a Bay Area public policy consulting firm whose principal clients included Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., McKesson, Inc., R.J. Reynolds, ARCO (Alaska), Envirotech, Irwin Memorial Blood Bank, Bayer USA, Westinghouse, City and County of San Francisco, McKesson Trauma Center Foundation, Asian Arts Museum (SF), Gulf Canada Resources, Inc., and the Alaska Arctic Gas Consortium.

Mr. Barish also structured public affairs programs and framed business strategies for the Marriott and Bechtel organizations.

Barish was Director of Public Affairs for the Del Monte Corporation. In this position, he managed all corporate communications, contributions, financial relations, and Federal-State governmental relations. He also served as the company's principal liaison with the governments of Kenya and the Philippines. Barish also chaired then-Governor Reagan's Consumer Advisory Council.

Davis School of Medicine.
