William T. Bagley

William T. Bagley is a senior partner in the statewide law firm of Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott, LLP, based in the San Francisco office.

Mr. Bagley served as a member of the University of California Board of Regents, (1989-2002) and was named Alumnus of the Year, 2002, by the California Alumni Association. He was Governor Deukmejian's first appointee to the California Public Utilities Commission (1983-86) and to the California Transportation Commission (1983-89) and is past Chairman of the CTC. Bagley has served in the Legislature representing Marin and Sonoma Counties (1961-74), successfully authoring more than 500 pieces of civil law legislation. He also served in Washington, D.C., appointed by President Ford, as the first Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (1975-79).

He is Phi Beta Kappa, Permanent Class President and Class Valedictorian of 5,000 graduates of the University of California at Berkeley (1949), a graduate of Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law where he served on the Board of Editors of the California Law Review.

Bill was born June 29, 1928, in San Francisco, California. he is married to the former Diane Oldham, and is the father of five children. The family resides in San Rafael, California.
